Phil reporting from Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas

Having spent a full day onboard, I am beginning to find my feet. The weather yesterday was warm but overcast and rainy which gave a good view of how the ship copes when everyone is forced indoors. Admittedly she is not sailing to full capacity, but there was plenty of entertainment available and I was never struggling for things to do or places to go.
I guess that when the sun is out and people are ashore or on deck, there will be many parts of the ship that will go unexplored.

Today I have been told that I am going to run the "Zip Wire" above the Boardwalk..!! I cannot wait and weather permitting this will be fantastic.
One thing I did notice with being indoors (sort of - because even when you think you are indoors, you may not be!!) was that the two main bars on the Royal Promade, and Schooners on deck 6 above the reception were all smoking bars.

I say this because most cruise ships nowadays, operate a no smoking policy in all but one bar. I can understand the pub being a smoking area but I have to say, this does not work in Schooners Bar which is central to the ship and is a rendezvous point for pre and post dinner drinks. A large number of my friends who do smoke also commented on this.

Anyway, the sun is coming out so I will go and find some good images from the top decks to post to you tomorrow and hopefully pictures of my Zip Wire run.

I am hopeful today that the Aqua Theatre show will be running because the design of this at the stern of the ship is out of this world. I will try and get some video footage and images for you.
