River Cruising passengers average age will come down attracting a younger crowd.

According to research conducted by Avalon Waterways, the current average age
of a European River Cruiser is 64 years, but many people agree that there is no
reason why that should not drop.
Phil's comment: Having experienced a river cruise several times in the last couple
of years, I fully agree. River Cruising whilst in its infancy is definitely geared to the
younger crowd.
It the simple fact that you can disembark in the middle of a city and explore the
sights, bars and local culture on your own feet. There is no need to wait for a tour
bus on almost all river cruise destinations.
RIver Cruising hasn't yet caught on with the younger travellers - but once people
experience a River Cruise, I think they will go back and visit new rivers and
destinations for many years.
The best way to go river cruising is with a couple of friends, you will have a ball..!!
At present it is manily ocean cruisers who are looking for something different, who
are taking river cruises, but it will not be too long before younger clients look to
the value and variety that river cruising offers.
More people around the 30 - 50 age group appreciate fine wines and good food,
and are keen explorers - this is the perfect holiday if you tick all three of these
boxes.
