Norwegian Cruise Line's Pride of Ameica is to extended its U.S.-flagged Hawaii program by two years.

NCL has revealed that operating one ship for inter-island cruises is profitable and this is great news for UK cruisers who do not want to spend 2 - 3 sea days pre and post Hawaii by sailing from Los Angeles to the Hawaiian Islands.

The Pride of America will continue sailing seven-day Hawaii itineraries roundtrip from Honolulu through January 2012. NCL removed two of its three U.S.-flagged ships from Hawaii at the beginning of the year, as Hawaii cruises continued to be a drain on NCL’s profitability.

NCL has also announced changes to its 2010 and 2011 summer deployment and itineraries. The line will homeport a ship in Venice for the time, with the Norwegian Gem operating two seven-day cruises of the Adriatic, the Greek isles and Turkey from the Italian port.

Phil's comment: This is more great news from NCL and I am particularly excited about the option to fly into Venice and sail the Adtriatic and Aegean onboard the NCL Gem. Call The Cruise Village for optional stays in Venice pre or post cruise.
