P&O Cruises Ventura cruise review September 2008 at The Cruise Village.

Hi Just returned from Ventura Atlantic Cruise 31/8. Really enjoyed it. A couple of days before I left I read some really awful reviews on the school holiday cruises so felt pretty depressed.
Judging by the comments from the school holidays cruises the children really do need to be supervised in the main areas as YOU CANNOT ALWAYS RELY ON PARENTS TO BE RESPONSIBLE.

Families
Many passengers have paid a lot of money for their holidays and many children appear to travel free so P&O needs to get its priorities right. Maybe P&O could just run ‘family cruises’ only for the school holidays Luckily there were only about 250 children on board on our cruise which seemed to be enough. They were kept busy and although they did take over the pools some what, the restaurants were virtually child free. Families did prefer the Beach House and Waterside buffet restaurants which left the passengers who wanted an adult night life and sophisticated dining to themselves.
Shows
The shows on the whole offered something for everyone and as I have a pretty eclectic taste it suited me. I enjoyed watching a vibrant version Of ‘STOMP’ whilst drinking my champagne cocktail or relaxing in the Metropolis Bar listening to jazz with another champagne cocktail.
Food
The food was very good and the service in the Cinnamon restaurant was efficient. One beef was that breakfast in the buffet restaurants was a bit of a scrum and maybe the restaurants could serve until 10 am for us late risers.
Ventura
I loved the
Phil's comment: As I have reported in today e-blast, Ventura really is starting to be a great hit with passengers. She really is now settling down. This email review above was sent to me today.
Thank you Janet for your comments and taking the time to email them to me.
