Phil's Cruise Blog in Dubai and the UAE day 2

Day 2. A leisurely morning before setting off for a Desert Safari in the Ajman Emirate.
Before we started our Desert Safari we were taken on a 25 minute drive to a quad biking company where we were able to drive the quad's up and down the dunes in the desert for 15 minutes in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain. Wow! What a fantastic experience this was.

Note: If you want to hire the bikes separately for an hours fun, this will cost approx £50 which is 300di
Then it is a 30 minute drive into the desert just outside Dubai in the Emirate of Sharjah . This is where the best dunes are for the Toyota Land Cruisers.
If it is dry, the driver will reduce the psi of the tyres down to 15.

We arrived at the meeting point where all the drivers position themselves into groups.
The dune drive is around 30 minutes. The Toyota Landcruisers have their filter changed every three 3 days..!! Tyres are changed after 40,000km
Our car is to travel at the rear of the group.
This is a truly amazing excursion and well worth the £45 approx price.
Some of the manoevres the drivers take are breathtaking and it really is a thrill.

As the sun sets, you drive to the camp where you take a camel ride, go dune surfing and then have a superb BBQ of chicken or Lamb chops. The food is of a very high standard and is cooked to perfection. All soft drinks are free but a beer will cost 15di - which is under £3.

After your food you board your Land Cruiser for the 55 minute drive back to Ras Al Kaimah or a 25 minute drive to Dubai.
You have to remember that this is a half day tour. But boy is this a great afternoon and evening and a MUST do excursion for all clients of Cruise Dubai from The Cruise Village.
