P&O Cruises reveal plans to charge Azura Caribbean flight supplements for winter

Phil's comment: This is a first for P&O Cruises and I can reveal today that for the winter of 2010/2011, flight supplements will be applied to Caribbean fly cruises departing from the airports shown in the list below.
- Belfast
- Bournemouth
- Bristol
- Cardiff
- Doncaster/Sheffield
- Edinburgh
- Glasgow
- Leeds
- Newcastle
The supplements of £49 per person will be applied for the first time on Azura fly cruises to the Caribbean 2010 / 2011.
Interestingly, there is no supplement to fly from Gatwick, Manchester or Birmingham. I will be interested to hear peoples views on this decision. One thing to remember is that P&O Cruises are the only operator to offer the complete luggage facility from home to ship and vice versa. Therefore in order to expand this service on selected cruises to a more localised market, the cost of a flight supplement outweighs the costs of travelling to Manchester, Gatwick or Birmingham in order to take advantage of this great service P&O Cruises service on their Winter Caribbean programme.
Either way, this is a debate that will continue ahead of the main brochure launch.
