No need to bring your life jacket to the drill onboard Celebrity Equinox
I really am very impressed with the way Celebrity Cruises are not standing still after the success of the Solstice launch back in November 2008 in Miami.
Everybody (well almost everbody) detests the lifeboat drill, albeit a very important part of taking a cruise holiday. Yet Celebrity Cruises have moved away from the traditional "grab your life jacket squeeze downb the stair wells to your Muster station" approach to the drill.
Life jackets whilst still in staterooms are now also held at the Muster stations. It allows everyone to easily and efficiently make their way to the Muster station without all the panic of rushing to your cabin and doing a 100 excuse me's on the way as you pass people.
I love this and it is definitely the way forward. My guess is that other cruise lines will follow, and why not?
There is even talk that Oasis of the Seas will hold all life jackets at strategic points on the new ship rather than in staterooms..!!
