This is really great news for The Cruise Village's village people..!! Celebrity Cruises Century is coming back to the Mediterranean and the great news is she will be based in Barcelona sailing to some fantastic destinations.

Here's the press release...

Celebrity Cruises will redeploy the Celebrity Century to the Mediterranean next summer, replacing a previously announced series of short cruises out of Miami between May and October 2010.

"Celebrity Century’s four- and five-night Caribbean vacations are very popular, but our dialogue with travel partners and guests in North America and Europe indicated even stronger demand for the ship in Europe next summer," said Celebrity CEO Dan Hanrahan in a statement.

Hanrahan added that the Celebrity Solstice is still scheduled to sail year-round Caribbean cruises.

The Century will continue its present schedule of short Caribbean cruises from November 2009 through early May 2010, when it will depart Miami May 20 on a 14-day transatlantic cruise.

On June 3, the ship will begin a series of 12-day, roundtrip Mediterranean cruises out of Barcelona, with varying itineraries that will include Cannes, Monte Carlo, Nice and Provence on the French Riviera; Sicily, Salerno, Florence/Pisa, Rome and Venice in Italy; Ephesus, Turkey; Athens and Mykonos, Greece; and Dubrovnik and Split, Croatia.
