Re: P&O Cruises Ventura a report from Phil at The Cruise Village
by Phil
Thank you for your comment on my Ventura report, and the reason I have printed this is once again to show that I am totally impartial as my clients know. I also have to say that I cannot believe the issue surrounding Ventura's launch back in April 2008 and the Christmas cruise is still simmering with some people. I have to point out that many other cruise lines have suffered problems both at launch and post launch - yet we do not see the same level of criticism levelled. I totally refute your suggestion that I am "someway connected with Carnival (P&O)" and my own personal criticism of some aspects of Ventura in 2008 which I reported, were also echoed by my clients. My reviews are always honest and where there is room for improvement- I most certainly do report it. But I also make sure I report the good with the bad - a balanced report! I am not sure how you come to your suggestion, but it is wide of the mark. However, these negative comments of mine were taken onboard by P&O Cruises and fixed. I and many other people will testify to that. Not only that - Ventura is now receiving excellent reviews and the feedback I am receiving leads me to believe that she is doing extremely well. She was certainly delivering in February 2009, and in March 2009 I had clients call me direct to say that Ventura in the Caribbean was the best cruise they had been on (and this was from seasoned cruisers of several cruise lines) I also have to defend P&O Cruises and ALL cruise lines on the issue of hygiene. The suggestion that any cruise line has a "lack of commitment to Hygiene control" is rediculous. Everyone has their favourite cruise ship and cruise line and our industry still continues to offer the highest levels of service and the very best value for money. The choice is wide and varied and new designs from ALL cruise lines are providing both contemporary and traditional design from European ship yards. This is a great source of employment and the ship yards should be congratulated on the advances in technology and use of space onboard the new ships. This is the last time I will post or make comments about Ventura in 2008 - she is extremely popular and the service levels onboard are extremely high. Phil
