I just thought I'd post a quick note about our experience last week with a Viking River Cruise down the Rhine River. It was awful!! The food was unappealing to look at (dinner of underdone whitefish on a bed of rice and steamed onions...one example) and far less than tasty. Breakfasts and lunches were okay. But the WORST was that after the second night they announced that since the river was low (and this just happened??!!) we may not be able to continue. So we spent 3 nights anchored in a small town in Germany before they bussed us to Cologne and then to Amsterdam. 3-4 hours on a bus every day!! Not fun, and not what we paid for!! And so far no mention of any compensation. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Viking Cruise lines.
